Hi Lana, It's awesome to have you sharing your work and writing tips. Please tell
us a little bit about yourself. I
am a world traveler, adventurer, and writer of erotic romance. My life mission is to travel to exotic places
and experience romance to the fullest so I can share my fantasy life with
readers. I can usually be found lounging
in satin teddies writing steaming scenes inspired by my stable of gorgeous men,
all in the name of research, of course.
How
did you decided to enter the world of writing? I've
been writing romance since I was a teenager.
I've loved reading my whole life and have always dreamed of becoming a
writer.
What
does your family think of your writing? My
family has been very supportive of my writing and has been very helpful in
helping around the house so I can work.
Wow, we're both lucky. My husband also helps me around the house so I can write. Where
do you get your ideas? I
am inspired by my travels and personal experiences.
Can you tell us
a little about your book? Duty to Warn is
the story of intern psychologist Kallie Parker, who is on a mission to solve
the vicious murder of a psychiatric inmate from the Chicago detention center.
Captain John McCabe, the irresistibly handsome and infuriatingly stubborn
commander of the jail quickly becomes at once her arch nemesis and the object
of her most intimate desires. Trapped in a mystery of deceit, Kallie searches
for the truth in a deadly game that may cost her life.
What is your
writing process? I spend a lot of
time thinking about my story and developing my characters. I envision the story from start to finish and
outline it. While writing, I follow my
outline, but I am also open to new inspiration that may arise as I write. Once the story is down, I revise and rewrite.
What was the hardest part for you when working on your book? Getting
started. I always struggle with determining
the best point to begin romancing my readers into the story.
What influenced or inspired you to write? I
would have to say it was my natural passion for reading.
Was there a scene that you didn’t add or you removed in your
finished work? No, I didn't remove or choose not to add any
particular scene.
Do
you have a favorite character (from you're book)? Why? I
really like Kallie. She's fearless and
tenacious, sometimes to her own demise.
I admire her determination in the pursuit of justice.
Do you already know what to write next? Can you tell us?
My
next book is quite different from Duty to Warn.
It is a highly erotic, politically themed novel called Binders Full of
Women. It's the story of Jennifer Long, who
worked her way through law school as a dominatrix and dreamed of a job in
government. She soon learns the capitol is full of sexist good 'ol boys who see
women as underlings and playthings rather than competent professionals. But Jennifer
beats the boys at their own dirty game. A portion of the profits from this book
will be donated for those impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
Where can we find more information about you and your books? The
best place to find out more information about me and my books (as well as some
excellent books by other authors) is my website, http://lanaslair.blogspot.com/
Do
you have any last words? Nothing
pleases me more than knowing that my books have provided an entertaining escape
for my readers.
Lana it has been a pleasure learning all about you and your book. Your books sound awesome. I will have to add to my to read list, lol. I hope that you will visit again.
